Suria carvalho

Suria has been attending yoga classes for 20 years and has been teaching and has a regular self-practice for the past 8 years. She has also traveled the world to learn yoga and later teach it. This direct experience with yoga teachings, gurus, and other cultures challenged her worldviews, taught many lessons, and helped her see and understand herself and others on a deeper level. In 2015, Suria completed her first 200 hours of yoga teacher training (TTC) in Ashtanga Yoga in Thailand with Lorraine Taylor. After completing her TTC, she returned to her home country, Brazil, and taught yoga at a local yoga studio. She returned to India to further her yoga education and deepen her spirituality. During this year-long journey in India and Srilanka, she completed another 500 hours of Hatha TTC, attended yoga and meditation retreats, intensive training, and conferences, and taught yoga, pranayama, and meditation at TTC schools. She continued learning and teaching yoga in Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippines, before settling in Washington, D.C. in the United States where she resided for five years and taught at all the best local yoga studios in town (Yoga Heights, Bluebird Sky Yoga, Yoga Noma, Yoga Del Sol.) She returned to Rishikesh, India, and completed another 300-hour TTC in Yoga Therapy
